I slept really well and woke at 7.00 am and with just a short walk to Bitola, my next destination, I took my time in preparing for the day. Breakfast was relaxed too, a very good plate of ham and eggs. I left the hotel at 9.00 am and I was soon walking out of the village with distant views of Bitola. I was startled by the sudden emergence of an aggressive dog jumping and barking, fortunately behind a fence, as I passed by. A little later whilst walking on the country road I expected an approaching car to slow as it passed but it continued to approach at speed with no deviation, forcing me into the hedge, the driver aggressively indicating that I should move off the road. It was a simple stroll of 5 miles into the ancient city of Bitola where I have decided on a rest day tomorrow.
